On 9 and 10 June 2025, 51 administrators, teachers and staff from Ateneo de Manila Grade School (AGS) took part in Brigada Eskwela, the Department of Education’s annual school readiness program. Through the AGS Social Involvement Office, the school coordinated with its Bigay Puso partner schools to support their preparations for the upcoming school year. The two partner schools were Raymundo Punongbayan Elementary School (RPES) in Payatas, Quezon City, and Francisco P Felix Elementary School (FPFES) in Cainta, Rizal.
On Monday, 9 June, 31 AGS volunteers visited FPFES. They participated in the official launch of Brigada Eskwela 2025 and were warmly welcomed by the school’s principal, faculty, staff, and stakeholders. As a sign of solidarity and support, AGS volunteers signed the board of the manifesto of support. Following the program, the volunteers painted the students’ chairs and cleaned the classrooms.
The following day, 10 June, 20 AGS teachers and staff visited Raymundo Punongbayan Elementary School (RPES). They too were graciously received by the principal, school personnel, and community stakeholders. The volunteers were tasked with cleaning classrooms—wiping down interiors, sweeping and mopping floors, and applying floor wax to ensure a clean and welcoming learning environment for students.
Brigada Eskwela 2025 was a meaningful and successful endeavor. The AGS extends its heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who generously gave their time during the summer break to support our Bigay Puso partner schools. Special thanks as well to the Ateneo Center for Educational Development (ACED) for its assistance in coordinating with our public school partners and preparing the materials used during the activity.
Together, we continue to build a community of service, compassion, and commitment to education.
