Ateneo to host the inaugural GRAJU Symposium in March 2026
26 Aug 2025
The Global Research Alliance of Jesuit Universities (GRAJU) is an international initiative aimed at fostering robust and sustainable research collaborations among Jesuit institutions of higher education across the globe.
Rooted in the Jesuit commitment to academic excellence, social justice, and global engagement, GRAJU seeks to build a unified research network that enhances scholarly partnerships, interdisciplinary innovation, and mission-driven inquiry.
Established on 4 August 2025, GRAJU has been initiated by six Jesuit universities, including Ateneo de Manila University (the Philippines), Fordham University (USA), Georgetown University (USA), ITESO (Mexico), Sogang University (South Korea), and the University of Deusto (Spain).
Ateneo is set to host the GRAJU Inaugural Symposium on 9-12 March 2026 at its Loyola Heights Campus, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
With the theme “The AI Frontier and the Distinctives of Global Jesuit Higher Education,” the symposium will bring together scholars, researchers, and university leaders from Jesuit higher education institutions worldwide. The gathering will serve as a platform for dialogue and collaboration on how Jesuit universities can collectively respond to the opportunities and challenges posed by artificial intelligence, while remaining rooted in their mission of service, excellence, and social transformation.
The Call for Papers for the GRAJU Inaugural Symposium is now open. We welcome submissions on, but not limited to, the following themes:
- AI in Ignatian Pedagogy and Curriculum Design
- AI for University Management and Strategic Planning
- AI in Research, Creative Work, and Innovation
- Ethical, Equity, Legal, and Policy Implications of AI
- Global Collaboration and Future Models
This first-ever GRAJU Symposium marks a milestone in advancing global collaboration and shaping the future of Jesuit higher education.
