The Ateneo School of Government is currently looking for qualified candidates for the following position: Training Coordinator

Unit: Executive Education Program

Period Covered: 3 months (Subject to Renewal)

I. Brief Description

The Ateneo School of Government (ASOG) is the public policy academic arm of the Ateneo de Manila University. Its long-term mission is to teach and work with effective and ethical public servants to build prosperous, sustainable, just, and happy communities in the Philippines, empowered by democratic, participatory, transparent, and accountable governance institutions and processes. Through its research and extension programs, and its work with public, private and civil society organizations, ASOG aims to develop and foster innovative ideas and approaches in order to change mindsets and systems in such areas as leadership, poverty eradication, climate change, social accountability, and politics.

II. Scope of Work

The Training Coordinator shall be part of the Executive Education Program, the Ateneo School of Government’s training arm in charge of implementing training and capacity-development programs that aim to build the capacities of various stakeholders from government, civil societies, private sector, and NGOs on leadership, governance, and public service. The Training Coordinator is expected to:

  • Assist the Executive Education Program Team in the development and implementation of innovative capacity-building activities (i.e. training programs, both public and customized), and ensure effective and efficient training program delivery
  • Liaise with partners, clients, and donors on current engagements, and ensure the timely and efficient implementation of programs/projects;
  • In coordination with Project Team, lead in the preparation of technical inputs within his/her area of expertise for the completion of EE program deliverables (e.g. training framework, course design/syllabus, assessment studies, research, etc.), including
    • Undertake research work related to the competency-needs assessment for developing various modules and courses;
    • Provide assistance to the project team in writing learning development manuals, case studies, reports etc.;
    • Translate research work into training cases relevant to the module;
  • Assist the Project Team in the identification, mobilization, supervision, and management all training project consultants, and monitor project budgets and prepare reports related thereto, in compliance with the requirements of internal and external partners;
  • Assist the Project team in the implementation of the unit’s marketing plan, sustainability fund-raising strategy, and to formulate and achieve EE revenue targets;
  • Assist the Project Team  to further develop the training portfolios in the following areas, including formulating program strategy and exploring possibilities for resource mobilization:
    • Youth leadership development,
    • Local governance and local economic development, 
    • Environmental governance
    • Health governance.
  • Perform such other functions as may be assigned by the Dean and his authorized representative similar to and related to the functions enumerated above.

III. Qualifications
 
Applicants for the Training Coordinator position must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any social science, with above average academic performance, preferably those in the field of human resource, political science, public administration, or development studies; Advantage for those with units in a relevant Master’s degree.
  • At least three (3) years experience  in conducting complete training cycle; assessing needs, plan, develop, coordinate, and evaluate  training programs; 
  • Experience in implementing face-to-face events, online trainings, and managing online learning management systems is an advantage;
  • Strong analytical skills and appreciation of training, and development;
  • Self-management, as evidenced by the ability to deliver outputs with minimum supervision;
  • Excellent English communication skills, oral and written;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a team; and
  • Adept in using Microsoft Office as well as other web and computer applications.
