True blue Atenean Michael George “Macky” Villasis ordained deacon for the Diocese of Novaliches

Ateneo de Manila University joyfully celebrates the Ordination to the Sacred Order of the Diaconate of true blue Atenean Rev Michael George “Macky” Maddela Villasis.

Rev Macky Villasis was ordained by the Most Rev Roberto Orendain Gaa DD, Bishop of Novaliches, on the morning of Tuesday, 28 October 2025, at the Novaliches Cathedral in Novaliches, Quezon City.

A true blue Atenean, Rev Macky Villasis graduated from Ateneo de Manila Grade School in 2006, Ateneo High School in 2010, and Ateneo de Manila University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Management degree. After graduation, he worked for two years in the banking industry. He was also a long-time member of the Ministry of Altar Servers of the Good Shepherd Cathedral.

Responding to the call to the diocesan priesthood, he entered San Jose Seminary in 2016 for his pre-theological and theological formation. He was instituted to the Lectorate in 2017 by the late Most Rev Victor Ocampo, then Bishop of Gumaca; to the Acolytate in 2018 by the Most Rev Medil Aseo, Bishop of Tagum; and was admitted to Candidacy for Holy Orders by the Most Rev Teodoro Bacani in 2022.

Rev Villasis received his Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology from the Loyola School of Theology in 2023 and his Master of Arts in Theological Studies from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2024. In July 2024, he joined Jesuit Volunteers Philippines and was missioned to Malaybalay, Bukidnon, where he served the IMDALSA Agrarian Reform Cooperative as a community organizer until May 2025.

As Rev Macky Villasis is ordained to the Sacred Order of the Diaconate, we join the Diocese of Novaliches in giving thanks for the gift of his vocation. May his faithful “yes” to Christ and the Church be a living witness of humble service, charity, and dedication to God’s people.

May the Lord continue to guide and strengthen him as he prepares for ordination to the priesthood.
