Creating Safe Spaces through Continuing Conversations and Capacity Building

07 Nov 2022 | University Gender and Development Office

Gender Equality
Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
Partnerships for the Goals
Safe Spaces Week 2022

Addressing Gender Based Violence and promoting safe spaces in the Ateneo de Manila University is guided by Philippine Commission on Women directives for this campaign to the Academe and Educational institutions to:

  • Include concepts of VAW and women’s human rights in lesson plans/lesson guides of your teaching staff
  • Continually conduct/spearhead anti-VAW advocacies in your campus, and if possible, to your immediate community through extension programs.
  • Setup a Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) where students and employees can seek help.

The University supports such measures through activities designed to strengthen existing institutions and promote the participation of all advocates, front lining offices and committees, student leaders and community members.
