Ateneo enters QS Sustainability Rankings at #593 globally

Ateneo de Manila University has entered the QS Sustainability Rankings, a rankings table evaluating higher education institutions worldwide on real-world impact.
In the 2024 edition, Ateneo has been ranked #593 overall, and #2 in the Philippines. Ateneo is the highest ranked Philippine private institution.
The QS World University Rankings: Sustainability, according to QS, evaluates universities "based on social impact, environmental impact and governance," which the group says "provides a unique and detailed framework to assess how universities are taking action to tackle the world’s most pressing global challenges."
Institutions were evaluated across three categories: Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Governance, with each category broken down further into several indicators.
Of the various categories and sub-indicators, Ateneo was ranked highest for Environmental Sustainability, at #38 globally. The full data on the University's performance can be accessed at the QS website.

A total of five Philippine institutions were included in this year's rankings: University of the Philippines (231); Ateneo de Manila (593); De La Salle University (981-100); University of Santo Tomas (1001-1050); and Mapua University (1201+).
QS said a total of 1,397 institutions from 95 countries and territories were included in the 2024 rankings, "more than double" the number from the initial 2023 release.
