Ateneo Confucius Institute holds Advisory Council meeting for 2023

The Advisory Council of the Confucius Institute at Ateneo de Manila University met for its annual meeting on 12 December 2023.
Representatives from Ateneo and partner institution Sun Yat-sen University convened at the President’s Board Room in Xavier Hall, Ateneo de Manila University to listen to the 2023 Director’s Report, evaluate the Institute’s performance, and reflect on possible ways to improve for the coming year.

This was the on-site Advisory Council Meeting held in the Philippines since 2019.
Aside from evaluating the performance of the Confucius Institute, the members also discussed possible ways to expand the academic relationship between Ateneo and Sun Yat-sen University beyond Chinese language and culture, such as cooperating in the fields of medicine and science and technology.
Next year's Advisory Council Meeting will return to Guangzhou at Sun Yat-sen University, which will be celebrating its centennial anniversary.
