Ateneo Law hosts book launch of “Understanding the Rules of War” by Atty Evecar B Cruz-Ferrer

On 7 November 2024,  the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law served as the venue for the book launch of “Understanding the Rules of War,” authored by Atty Evecar B Cruz-Ferrer. The event was attended by law practitioners, academics, and students.

Atty Ma Ngina Teresa C Gonzaga, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, delivered the opening remarks. Messages followed from Hon Adolfo S Azcuna and Hon Estela Perlas-Bernabe, former Supreme Court Associate Justices, who lauded Atty Cruz-Ferrer's contributions to the legal field

Atty Evecar B Cruz-Ferrer is a law professor at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She teaches Public International Law, International Humanitarian Law, Special Issues in International Law, Constitutional Law, Conflicts of Law and Human Rights Law. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo Law School in 2005. In 2007, she obtained her Post Graduate Diploma on International Humanitarian Law from the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) University in Hyderabad, India and her Post Graduate Diploma on the Law of the Sea from Yeosu University in South Korea. In 2021, she obtained her Master in International Studies from the University of the Philippines.

Atty Cruz-Ferrer is a former Legal Advisor and International Humanitarian Law Coordinator of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). She has also worked with the military, police and the national government for more than 15 years on the matter of International Humanitarian Law.
