Ateneo Law School joins international effort to strengthen graduate legal education through EU-Funded CALSADA Project
27 Mar 2026
The Ateneo Law School (ALS) is part of a global consortium under the Erasmus+ programme through the CALSADA R.S.D. Project —a collaborative initiative that seeks to strengthen graduate legal education, deepen research, and build more meaningful digital and institutional connections across jurisdictions.
At its core, CALSADA is about more than systems and structures. It is about forming institutions—and ultimately, lawyers—that are responsive to the evolving demands of justice in a rapidly changing world.
A Shared Commitment Across Borders
Coordinated by the University of Granada, the project brings together universities, judicial institutions, and education bodies from Europe and the Philippines. In this community of practice, Ateneo Law School contributes not only as a participant, but as a partner in shaping conversations on quality, research, and innovation in legal education.
Strengthening What Matters
CALSADA focuses on improving the quality of postgraduate legal education, supporting research-informed policy development, and enhancing digital connectivity across institutions.
These aims are pursued through seminars, collaborative discussions, and shared outputs that invite institutions to learn from one another—bridging perspectives from different legal traditions while remaining grounded in local realities.
More than technical exchanges, these engagements create space for reflection: on how law is taught, how it evolves, and how it can better serve society.
Ateneo’s Role in the Journey
Through CALSADA, ALS will take part in academic seminars, policy discussions, and dissemination initiatives, while contributing its own experience in forming lawyers committed not only to excellence, but to purpose.
As the collaboration unfolds, Ateneo Law School’s participation reflects a continuing commitment—to learning across borders, to strengthening institutions, and to forming legal professionals who can navigate complexity with both competence and conscience.
A key milestone will be the kick-off meeting in Manila in June 2026, where partners will gather to begin this shared work in earnest.
