SUBJECT:

2024 Bar Exam Results

REF.  NO.:

2024-038-G

To my fellow Ateneo Law School alumni, faculty members and students:

Consistent with the schedule announced by this year’s Bar Chair, Associate Justice Mario V. Lopez, the results of the bar exams administered last September have today been officially released and I am pleased to share the news that our Ateneo Law School  registered a 96.36% passing rate among first-time takers and a 96.02% passing rate among all Ateneo Law takers. Based on these passing rates, the Ateneo Law ranked first among all law schools that had more than 100 exam takers in both the first-time takers and overall categories.

With respect to individual rankings, six (6) of our students ranked among the top twenty (20) passers.

Indeed, this is a moment of extreme happiness and great relief for our ALS passers, marking as it does the attainment of a goal that took over four arduous years to prepare for.

But it is more than just that.

For it is also a moment in which our Ateneo Law community feels immense pride not only for each of our Ateneo Law passers, but likewise for each one of you who had helped in one selfless way or other to enable this to happen for them. And it is also a moment of obstinate hope for a better collective future for our nation, trusting that our bar passers, who are now certain to formally join the legal sector, will do so as principled lawyers in genuine service of others, imbued with Ignatian fervor and spirit.

Of course, even as the bar exams, and the years of preparation, were tough, more agonizing challenges lie in wait for each of them in the daily grind they will encounter as Ateneo Lawyers. As such, we offer our prayers that each one of them will fortify themselves by continuing to value, strive for, and insist on, excellence in the service of our fellowmen and our nation and uphold the rule of law founded upon a rule of justice, for the greater glory of God, done in The Ateneo Way.

Thank you once again to everyone who supported and helped in an amazing display of the Ateneo Law spirit during this 2024 bar exams season. But amidst our celebrations, let us not ever forget, nor cease to support, those among our ALS bar takers who may have missed the mark this time around but will, without doubt, regroup and rise with renewed confidence and resolve. We are, and will always be, here for you.

One big fight!
