2025 QS Subject Rankings: Ateneo ranks in 9 subject areas

Ateneo de Manila University ranks among the world's top universities in 9 subjects in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject, released Wednesday 12 March 2025.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 evaluated more than 5,200 institutions worldwide, and ranked a total of 1,747 schools across 55 specific disciplines and 5 broad subject areas.
The QS subject rankings placed Ateneo among the world's best in the following areas:
- Theology, Divinity & Religious Studies (101-150)
- English Language & Literature (201-250)
- Modern Languages (201-250)
- Philosophy (201-225)
- Politics & International Studies (251-300)
- Education (401-450)
- Business & Management Studies (451-500)
- Economics & Econometrics (501-550)
- Computer Science & Information Systems (751-850)
Aside from this, Ateneo continues to be ranked in two Broad Subject Areas:
- Arts & Humanities (=345)
- Social Sciences & Management (451-500)
The number of specific subjects in which Ateneo has been ranked is up from four in the previous rankings (2024). In 2024, Ateneo was ranked in Theology, Divinity & Religious Studies (101-140); English Language & Literature (151-200); Business & Management Studies (451-500); and Modern Languages (201-250).
A total of four Philippine institutions were included in this year's rankings, according to QS.
According to QS, the subject rankings were compiled based on five key metrics that take into account academic reputation, employer reputation, and research. A detailed methodology can be found at https://www.topuniversities.com/subject-rankings.
