The Ateneo-Asia Cup Team secured the Championship title at the 2025 Asia Cup International Law Moot Court Competition, held in Tokyo, Japan, from 5 to 6 August 2025.

This year’s competition drew participation from 73 universities across 19 countries. Following a rigorous evaluation of memorials by a distinguished panel of judges, only 16 teams advanced to the prestigious Oral Rounds. Ateneo stood as the sole representative from the Philippines.

The Team's stellar performance also earned several individual and team distinctions:

  • 🏆 1st Best Respondent Oralist – Joemari Victor R Burgos

  • 🏆 2nd Best Respondent Oralist – Therese Marie T Ybañez

  • 🏆 2nd Best Applicant Oralist – Therese Marie T Ybañez

  • 🏆 2nd Overall, Preliminary Rounds

The championship team was composed of:

  • Oralists: Therese Marie T Ybañez (4D) and Joemari Victor R Burgos (2E)

  • Team Administrators: Elisabeth Cajurao (3A), Sean Marie Prythyll A Patnubay (3C), and Christella Audrey R Garin (2C)

They were ably mentored and coached by Atty Ejie Evander Emerson A Bonzo, Atty Jillian Margaux V Roy, Atty Julianne Beatrice N Rosario, and Ms Isabelle Beatriz DLS Ginez.

This marks Ateneo’s first Asia Cup championship in over a decade, and its sixth title overall, having previously secured victories in 1999, 2002, 2008, 2012, and 2013.

Congratulations, One big fight!
