Delocado delivers a talk on sustainability and conservation in NUS

Dr Emmanuel D Delocado, Director of Ateneo Institute of Sustainability and Head of Ateneo Biodiversity Research Laboratory of the Department of Biology, gave the culminating talk in the “Tea with Conservation and Sustainability Champions” seminar series of the National University of Singapore - Faculty of Science for the current semester.
Held last 30 October 2025, the seminar was designed for the MS Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainability students of NUS. In the talk titled “Closing the gap: Engaging with universities and communities in mainstreaming sustainability and conservation in time of polycrisis”, Delocado argued that sustainability and biodiversity advocates are challenged to bridge certain communication gaps between different sectors of the society. His talk featured case studies, culling from his experience in AIS and in BiodivLab, on how to package sustainability and conservation issues relevant and actionable to stakeholders.
With five talks this semester, the “Tea with Conservation and Sustainability Champion” is a seminar series which feature researchers and practitioners who share developments and experience in emerging, dynamic, and pertinent fields that can drive impact to socioecological advancements.
