Ateneo's Dr Emma Porio to be featured speaker at 2026 Corporate Social Responsibility Conference
19 Jan 2026
Dr Emma Porio, Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Ateneo de Manila University's Dr Rosita G Leong School of Social Sciences (RGLSOSS) will be a featured speaker at the 2026 CSR Convention in Cebu.
Widely respected for her work on urban vulnerability and climate resilience, Dr Porio brings insights from years of research on how communities, particularly marginalized groups, navigate climate risks and disasters across the Philippines and Asia.
Taking place from 4 to 5 February 2026 at Maayo Hotel, the convention brings together around 100 participants from business, foundations, and civil society across the Visayas. It aims to strengthen collaboration and align efforts toward shared prosperity, with a particular focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and how CSR programs can move beyond compliance to become more adaptive, especially in disaster-prone communities. This year’s convention places Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) at the center of the conversation.
By creating space for learning, dialogue, and collaboration, the 2026 CSR Convention in Cebu hopes to elevate the practice of CSR, helping organizations adapt to changing realities, making them more resilient communities.
