On 08 September 2023, the third batch of the Philippine Air Force Leadership Excellence and Development Program (PAF LEAD) held its virtual culminating ceremony. The 6-week executive training commenced on 31 July 2023 and was participated by thirty (30) senior officers holding key positions in different offices of the Philippine Air Force. The program was facilitated by seven (7) Subject Matter Experts who explicitly designed the learning modules to fit the professional development of the participants.

The PAF LEAD Program was designed by the ASoG-ExecEd in collaboration with the PAF Aviation Leadership Excellence Nexus (PAF ALEN). This program aims to enhance the competencies of PAF senior officers in examining the complexity of emerging trends in national defense, and how instruments of national power are integrated and utilized to attain military objectives through the employment of Air Power and influencing strategic policy changes to benefit the PAF. Moreover, the program is intended for senior officers who have completed their Command and General Staff Course (CGSC) and are preparing to take up a Master in National Security Administration (MNSA). The curriculum of the program is a combination of synchronous virtual meetings and asynchronous learning activities on the following subjects: (1) Evidence-Based Policy Analysis and Formulation, (2) Emerging Trends in Leadership, (3) Negotiations and Conflict Management, (4) International Security Studies and Geopolitics, (5) Strategic Communication, and (6) Application of Air Power.

The closing program began with an invocation by Assistant Command Chaplain Captain Medardo A. Jumamoy CHS, followed by an opening message by the ASoG Professor of Praxis Admiral Rommel Jude C. Ong (Ret.), congratulating the participants for completing the 6-week leadership program.

Ms. Reina Pelayo-Lino, head of the Ateneo School of Government – Executive Education Program (ASoG-ExecEd), presented the certificates to the participants, followed by a message from the ASOG Dean Philip Arnold P. Tuaño, Ph.D

Three of the senior officers who took part in the PAF LEAD Batch 3 also provided their testimonials. They shared their experiences, learnings, and how their newfound knowledge can help them as future leaders. They also thanked ASoG – ExecEd and PAF ALEN for allowing them to learn and boost their critical thinking and decision-making skills with the discussions and activities they have done in the 6-week program.

The closing ceremony culminated with an inspirational message by MGEN Aristotle Gonzalez, Commander of the Air Education, Training and Doctrine Command (AETDC) who congratulated the officers for the successful completion of PAF LEAD – Batch 3.

The PAF LEAD has been a long-standing partnership between the AETDC and the ASOG Executive Education since 2021.
