Law School holds seminar on Cross-Examination in International Arbitration

Last October 4 and 6, 2022, the Ateneo Law School in partnership with Dechert LLP and the ICC Court of Arbitration held a seminar entitled, “Cross-Examination in International Arbitration: Theory and Practice for Practitioners Based in the Philippines”.
Speakers and facilitators of the event were international and local practitioners headed by Mark Mangan (Dechert LLP), Hazel Tang (ICC Counsel), William Panlilio (Litigation Capital Management) and Louie Ogsimer (Ateneo Law Faculty). The participants included counsels from different firms and government offices, faculty, students and practitioners.
The first session was a discussion on the theory of arbitration, including its key principles, advocacy tips, comparison of advocacy styles and perspectives from an arbitrator, witness and client. The second session involved mock cross-examinations.
