BBC Studios gifts AJHS library with a copy of Frozen Planet II

08 Feb 2023

BBC Studios recently gifted Ateneo de Manila Junior High School with a hardbound copy of the book, “Frozen Planet II: A World of Wonder Beyond the Ice.” A companion to the landmark TV series of the same name, the book is in gratitude for our students’ participation in the video shown to world leaders in Egypt last November during the COP 27 conference. The video features students from all over the world playing the Minecraft Education Edition of “Frozen Planet II” and sharing their thoughts on climate change.

The book was handed over to the AJHS Library at a gathering held in the office of the AJHS Principal that was attended by students, administrators and faculty. Representing the students were Tiel Blanca (Pamplona/10-Whitbread) and Stephen Materum (Montserrat/10-Maunoir), who were both featured in the COP 27 video. From the administration were Jonny Salvador (Principal), Genalyn Sanvictores (Assistant Principal for Academics), Ron Capinding (Assistant Principal for Formation), and Dingdong Guerrero (Assistant Principal for Administration). From the AJHS Science Subject Area were Jovy Bactad (Subject Area Coordinator), Jason Arias (faculty), and Lavi Subang (faculty). From the Computer Subject Area and Information Technology Services Office (ITSO) was Allan Santos (faculty). Last but not least was B.A. Coballes (Coordinator of the Educational Media Center), who received the book for the library.

The book came with a handwritten note addressed to AJHS Principal Jose "Jonny" Salvador.
