AJHS science teacher Jason Arias named Minecraft Education’s first Filipino Ambassador of the Month

Mr Jason Arias of the Ateneo de Manila Junior High School (AJHS) Science faculty was recently named Ambassador of the Month by Minecraft Education—the first Filipino educator to receive this prestigious recognition. Announced on 16 May 2025, Mr Arias is one of three global educators honored for the period of 16 May to 16 June 2025, alongside fellow ambassadors from England and Mexico.

The Ambassador of the Month distinction is part of the Minecraft Education Ambassador Program, which spotlights exceptional educators who harness the power of Minecraft Education to inspire innovative learning experiences and actively contribute to the global educator community.

Among Mr. Arias’ most notable achievements is the publication of his lesson “Coaster-vation of Energy” in Microsoft's Minecraft Education in-game library on 1 March 2023—marking the first Filipino-created lesson to be featured on the platform. 

As an Ambassador of the Month, Mr. Arias is invited to further his impact by contributing to webinars, writing blogs, and participating in community events, continuing his mission to enrich science education through immersive, digital experiences.

Microsoft has been recognizing outstanding educators as Ambassadors of the Month from its roster of Minecraft Education Ambassadors (formerly Global Mentors) since 2023.
