Ateneo de Manila University’s Inside Out secured an impressive second-place finish at the online round of the 2025 Oceania Case Competition (OCC), held on August 30 by the University of Auckland. Inside Out—composed of Mikayla Rae Guerrero (4 BS ME), Andrei Napoles (3 BS ME), Megan Orendain (3 BS CTM), and Johann Tan (3 BS ITE)—stood out as the sole Asian team in a field dominated by 18 universities from Australia and Oceania.
OCC, organized annually by the University of Auckland Case Club, is one of the Oceania region’s most respected platforms for future business leaders to test their problem-solving skills against complex, real-world challenges. The 2025 edition featured both online and offline rounds, broadening the competition’s reach.
During the round, Inside Out crafted a strategic roadmap for the Canva Foundation to combat child malnutrition in the Philippines. The team presented a scalable, sustainable solution anchored around barangay-level infrastructure. Judges commended the team’s solution for its structured approach and its potential to create tangible social impact.
This strong finish highlights Ateneo’s growing influence in the global case competition arena and reaffirms the creativity, rigor, and social consciousness that Filipino student teams can bring to the world stage.
