Dr Rene Claveria awarded the PRC 2025 Outstanding Professional of the Year in Geology and the 2025 PFPA Distinction Award for Applied Research and Development

Dr Claveria at the 52nd PRC Awards, receiving the OPYA in Geology

Dr Rene Juna R Claveria, assistant professor from the Department of Environmental Science, was recognized for his outstanding work in the field of Geology.

Dr Claveria was awarded the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) 2025 Outstanding Professional of the Year (OPYA) in Geology last 06 September 2025.

The OPYA is granted to professionals who have performed proficiently in their field with legitimate professionalism and whose works have been widely recognized by peers and fellow professionals. The award encompasses four fields: Business, Education, and Social; Engineering; Health and Allied; and Technology.

Dr Claveria was also awarded the 2025 Philippine Federation of Professional Associations, Inc (PFPA) Distinction Award for the Applied Research and Development Category last 22 February 2025.

The Distinction Award for the Applied Research and Development Category is given to professionals who have conducted impactful research whose results brought about benefits to the environment and society. With this award, the PFPA not only hopes to recognize professionals who have worked with commitment and responsibility, but also to foster an environment that is supportive and motivating of professionals in their respective fields to continue to reach for excellence.

Congratulations to Dr Claveria! The Ateneo community is grateful for your academic work and service, and very proud of your achievements. May your contributions continue to inspire professionals all over the world.
