Congratulations to Ateneo de Manila University students Soj Gamayon (5 BSCTM), Edge Angeles (4BS MGT), and Mat Jirvonn Reyes (5 BS ITE), for emerging as one of the top teams in the final round of the ASEAN leg of the China-ASEAN Innovation Quest! Their winning technology, AgriConnect, impressed the judges with its innovative approach to addressing challenges in agri-tech and will be moving to the finals from 2 to 3 December in Guilin, China.

Last 27 October 2025, the ASEAN leg, held at Sunway University in Malaysia, featured teams from across Southeast Asia, each showcasing groundbreaking solutions in cyber security, agri-tech, and disaster risk management. AgriConnect stood out as one of the Top 3 Teams for its potential to enhance connectivity and resources in the agriculture sector, offering a valuable tool for farmers and the entire industry.

Soj Gamayon, one of the team members, is currently part of the Blue Nest incubation program of the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office, which has been instrumental in supporting his growth as an innovator. During the competition, the AgriConnect team was joined by Ms Mariela Alcaparas from AIPO as their adviser. This incredible achievement highlights the talent coming out of Ateneo de Manila University, demonstrating the university’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

We wish the team all the best in the final round in China – we’re all cheering for you!
