Dr Rowena Azada-Palacios delivers seminars in Scotland and Wales

Rowena Azada-Palacios PhD delivered seminars about her Ateneo de Manila University School of Humanities (SOH)-supported Research and Creative Works (RCW) project in Scotland and Wales in October and November 2025.
She delivered a seminar titled "Why We Need to Understand University Internationalization as University Inter-imperialism" at the University of Edinburgh on 21 October 2025 for the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain Edinburgh Branch, a seminar titled "The Imperial Roots of the American Research University" at the University of Glasgow on 22 October 2025 for the Andrew Hook Centre for American Studies seminar series, and a seminar titled "Transcending the Inter-Imperial Roots of University Internationalization" at Swansea University on 20 November 2025 for the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain South Wales Branch.
Dr Azada-Palacios's work is part of her postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation; she has also received additional funding from the Sargent Award for Visiting Scholars (Arnold Arboretum, Harvard University), the Kwan Laurel Foundation Research Grant, and the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain Small Grants, and a University of Edinburgh internal grant.
