Lecture: Life Through Buddhist Eyes with Dr Chandima & Philipp Hein
26 Nov 2025
For those who were unable to attend "Life Looks Different Through Buddhist Eyes: A Philosophy That Changes How We Live" last week, the full recording of the dialogue between Dr Chandima Gangodawila and Mr Philipp Hein is now accessible via YouTube. The lecture can be accessed here. This was held last 21 November 2025 at Ateneo de Manila University.
They talked about the philosophical problem of suffering (dukkha), the three modalities (direct, dynamic and inherent) of dukkha, and the potential for finding sustainable happiness (sukha) in Early Buddhism. The session also addressed how Buddhism distinguishes between healthy and wholesome forms of attachment that support relational stability and care, and unhealthy attachments grounded in clinging, obsession, possessiveness, and craving, which perpetuate dissatisfaction (minor form of dukkha).
