On 30 October 2025, the Provincial Government of Samar signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Ateneo de Manila University, through its Ateneo School of Government (ASoG), to advance human capital development and good governance in the province.
Through this partnership, qualified provincial personnel will pursue ASoG’s Master in Public Management (MPM) program, a 39-unit professional degree that builds ethical, competent, and servant leaders capable of driving innovation and excellence in public service.
Governor Sharee Ann Tee Tan expressed her gratitude for the collaboration, emphasizing its importance in strengthening the provincial government’s capacity to serve.
“I would like to thank Ateneo for coming up with this program because it is a big help in capacitating our staff,” Governor Tan said.
Ateneo de Manila University President Fr Roberto C Yap SJ, highlighted the vital role of local governments in fostering responsible and responsive governance.
“Local governments are at the frontlines of development. By working with partners like Samar, we hope to form leaders who will shape a culture of integrity and innovation in governance,” Fr Yap said.
The signing took place on 30 October 2025, at the Ateneo de Manila University Board Room, witnessed by ASoG Dean Dr Jennifer C Oreta and representatives from the Provincial Government of Samar.
This collaboration reflects both institutions’ shared commitment to strengthening leadership and advancing sustainable development in local governance.
