29 Jan 2026
Ateneo de Manila University scholars will take part in the MICROCASA International Conference 2026, contributing to Panel Session II: “Sustainability and Digital Transformation,” to be held on 4 February 2026 at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang.
The panel will examine how micro-credentials can support sustainable skills development while accelerating digital transformation in higher education. It will bring together university leaders, researchers, and regional experts to discuss sustaining innovation beyond project cycles, digital transformation at institutional and system levels, and the role of micro-credentials in workforce upskilling and employability.
Ateneo will be represented by Dr Marita C Guevara, Lecturer, Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Dr Rosita G Leong School of Social Sciences (RGLSOSS), who will serve as Moderator, and Dr Dennis Batangan, Medical Doctor, Public Health Specialist, and Research Scientist at the RGLSOSS, who will join as a panelist.
Co-funded by the European Union and hosted by USM, MICROCASA 2026 will serve as a platform for advancing regional dialogue on the future of higher education at the intersection of sustainability, digital innovation, and skills development.
