40 Days of Lent: Day 21

40 Days of Lent: Day 21

Challenges have always been a part of life. Even as life is meant to be joyful, it never lacks difficulties. And together with moments when we are at peace and happy, there come times when we may be disturbed from our serenity. There is even a belief that what does not kill you makes you stronger.

Jesus was sent by the Father not to make life easy but to make us empowered to survive whatever it throws us. The meaning of Christ’s deep love that he even died for us is that no matter what difficulties we face, even the challenge of sin, he will never turn his back on us. And we can make the gift of a savior, no less than the son of God, matter by not allowing ourself to be beaten in any struggle, getting up and continuing to fight because we have an ally who fights for us and with us.

What challenges are you facing these days? What difficulties do you need to overcome? What are those that disturb your peace? You may name them so you can better face them. And as you make the resolve to push forward and win over what may be in your way, lean on the Lord as well. For the greatest strength we can get is from him who knew the most painful challenges, difficulties and disturbances. Yet still triumphed and came back to life through love.
