40 Days of Lent: Day 9

40 Days of Lent: Day 9

If we were asked about things that we are sure about as regards our self, this may be an easy exercise. We can say our name, place of work or school, family members. We can also mention what we are good at. And we can even include our favorites such as food, books and songs. This list can be a combination of facts about who we are and what we believe in relation to our identity.

When it comes to other people, we may also have a sense of who they are, what they do, what they like or prefer. Especially with those close to us, listing what we know may also be an easy task. How about if we do it as regards God? Will this also be something that we can do without much effort?

Let us make a list, even of just nine things. What do you know about Jesus? What do you believe about Christ? As you do this, you can be more mindful of those that you hold true in your heart, that you have strong conviction in, that you will fight and even die for. Make it personal, not just about what you heard or read about the Lord, but what he has been or not been to you in your particular history. Be assured that no matter what you enumerate, the man who died on the cross for you will never take back his offer of salvation. He will never change what he knows and believes about you that you are his beloved, whether you believe it or not.
