Last 7 October 2025, the School of Humanities hosted the Kwan Laurel Lecture in the Humanities, featuring Fr Thomas Massaro SJ, the Laurence J McGinley Endowed Chair in Religion and Society at Fordham University.

In his lecture, "Visioning a Future filled with Hope and Justice in the Global South," Fr. Massaro explored what it means to hope in the Global South, drawing insights from Catholic social thought.
