ASOG wraps up TPA Pilot and Information Roadshow Program in Rizal

The Ateneo School of Government, through the Ateneo Policy Center, conducted the second and final leg of the PhilHealth Third Party Accreditation Pilot and Information Roadshow Program in the Province of Rizal.

On February 10, 2023, with the assistance of the provincial government of Rizal and its Head of Provincial Health and Hospital Systems, Dr. Angel Daquigan, the Research Team was able to visit Margarito A. Duavit Memorial Hospital in the Municipality of Binangonan.

The team presented and explained the objectives of the program before the hospital management staff, which included the Chief of Hospital, the Head of OB-GYN Department, as well as some administrative and finance staff.

On February 13, 2023, the team organized the final TPA information roadshow at the First Pacific Leadership Academy in Antipolo City, Rizal. Dr. Kenneth Y. Hartigan-Go led the presentation, while the research team facilitated the open forum and the question and answer session.

The event was attended by different stakeholders such as representatives of different Rizal Provincial Hospital Systems (Margarito A. Duavit Memorial Hospital, Angono, Casimiro A. Ynares Sr. Memorial Hospital, and Morong Hospital) owners of private hospitals, representatives of different patient groups, hospital management staff of government-owned and controlled hospitals, and representatives of multi-specialty clinics. Ms. Carmen Zubiaga, a known health and social advocate and a policy maker also graced the event to share her insights regarding the feasibility of the program.
