Antonio "Sonny" Trillanes IV, Professor of Praxis at the Ateneo School of Government, served as the resource person for the e-learning program which focused on the various issues in the Philippines and the relevance of studying public policy. The program aimed to enhance the capabilities of Philippine local executives and mid- and top-level civil servants towards policy development and analysis with a focus on the protection of human rights and the well-being of their constituents.
During the breakout sessions, the participants were allowed to test and further hone their skills in decision-making and policymaking as local government unit issues and agency problems were provided in crafting policy recommendations and solutions.
Provided with good feedback from the participants and excellent collaboration with ASOG and IPDSI, the two institutions are expecting to roll out more customized courses on public policymaking in the future.
The Ateneo School of Government - Executive Education continues to develop new courses suited to the needs of nation-building and institutional reform as well as to provide space for conversations on various governance issues. These courses are divided in to the following:
Public Offering Courses – These are in-house public course offerings regularly scheduled to allow the private and public sectors access to an ASOG education.
Customized Courses – These are courses specifically developed to be responsive to the needs of various government agencies.
Mission Programs – These are courses developed for specific sectors. These are the initiatives of the School, consistent with the Jesuit’s mission to reach out to those in the periphery where governance interventions are mostly needed. Currently, the unit has projects on the the following focus areas: BARMM Portfolio, Youth Portfolio, and Overseas Filipinos through the OF-LIFE Program
