The Ateneo School of Government's (ASoG) Executive Education (ExecEd) program unit, in partnership with the Quezon City Local Government Unit (QC-LGU), and the Institute for Policy, Strategy, and Developmental Studies, Inc (IPSDI), hosted a whole-day face-to-face training at the 10th Floor, High Rise Building of the Quezon City Hall Complex last 11 August 2023 for the selected participants in the mid-level management and department heads.

ASoG ExecEd is continuously bringing one of its core public program offerings, entitled “Introduction to Public Policymaking,” to the targeted stakeholders, together with the Professor of Praxis, Former Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV, who served as the Subject Matter Expert in delivering an engaging and participative learning session.

Former Senator Trillanes has pursued and spearheaded this project continually by conducting lectures about the various processes in public policymaking followed by an interactive workshop applicable to the participants working in the public sector. The training was attended by 28 mid to third-level government officials, including representatives from the Local Legislative Offices of the City Councilors.

Mr Don Francis Javillonar, Assistant City Administrator for Fiscal Affairs, who participated in the training, closed the program with a very insightful message on giving importance to the upskilling of knowledge and continuous learning for the people who are working for the local government. He also thanked the ASoG Executive Education training team, IPSDI, and the good Senator for choosing the Quezon City LGU as the beneficiary of this policy-making training program.
