ASOG ExecEd holds successful online training on Introduction to Public Policymaking

The Ateneo School of Government (ASoG), through the Executive Education Program, in partnership with the Institute for Policy, Strategy, and Developmental Studies, Inc. (IPSDI), implemented a virtual training course entitled “Introduction to Public Policymaking” on February 23, 2024. It was actively participated by professionals from various government branches, civil society organizations, and the public.
The training aimed to enhance the capabilities of local executives and mid/top-level civil servants towards policy development and analysis anchored on the vital inclusion of protection of human rights and the promotion of the well-being of their constituents: the Filipino people.
Thirty-four (34) participants enrolled in the ASOG ExecEd’s latest training course, seeking to delve into public policy's intricate theories and practical applications alongside esteemed Former Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV, an ASoG Professor of Praxis. The lecture offered a robust foundation in public policymaking, which sparked dynamic discussions among the participants. Through interactive workshops, participants were empowered to navigate the complexities of policy crafting, with the former Senator providing invaluable guidance. Their resulting outputs were met with constructive feedback and actionable tips, equipping them with tools to make tangible impacts in their respective field.
Two participants also shared feedback on their experiences. Ms. Charlaine Mae T. Costales, from the Public-Private Partnership Center, shared what she learned from the training that is relevant to her work. Another participant, Mr. E-Jhay C. Talagtag, from the Office of the Mayor of the City Government Manila, expressed his gratitude to the speaker and the organizing committee for making the training a success. Overall, their testimonies attest to the knowledge they gained and the significance of these learnings in their field of work.
ASoG Dean Philip Arnold P. Tuaño gave the closing remarks where he relayed his gratitude to the resource speaker and the participants for taking the opportunity to learn and apply the lessons in their professions. The participants were then awarded their certificates of completion and were recognized individually for the time and effort they allotted in the whole day of training.
