The Ateneo School of Government (ASoG) recently conducted a courtesy visit to Marawi City in Lanao del Sur to engage in exploratory meetings aimed at strengthening and expanding partnerships with the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Dr Jennifer S Oreta, the Dean of ASoG, met with representatives from the BARMM Office of the Chief Minister to discuss strengthening efforts on research and capacity-building programs.

Dr Oreta also held discussions with the first cohort of ASoG Master in Public Management (MPM) students from Lanao del Sur. The discussion centered on developing collaborative pathways to enhance ASoG’s alumni support initiatives, aimed at strengthening connections and resources for graduates in the region.

Additionally, Dr Oreta met with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) team working for BARMM to provide insights on addressing vulnerability and inclusive community development in the region, and discuss possible partnerships on BARMM initiatives

These initiatives underscore ASoG’s commitment to promoting good governance and development in the Bangsamoro region, paving the way for collaborations that help address regional challenges and foster sustainable growth.
