ASoG ExecEd provides project management training for Integrity Management Program of OP, Ombudsman
30 Oct 2025
The Ateneo School of Government (ASoG), through its Executive Education Program, conducted a three-day customized Project Management Training for the Program Management Committee (PMC) and Joint Technical Working Group (JTWG) of the Integrity Management Program (IMP) from 20 to 22 October 2025, at the Office of the Ombudsman in Quezon City.
The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of IMP implementers to design, plan, and manage results-oriented integrity initiatives that prompt transparency, accountability, and ethical governance. Through hands-on workshops and collaborative learning, participants enhanced their ability to translate integrity goals into measurable outcomes and institutional reforms within their respective agencies.
The course was facilitated by Mr Manolito A Novales, a core faculty of ASoG and a seasoned expert in public sector project management.
The participants are the members of the PMC and the JTWG of the Integrity Management Program, a joint initiative of the Office of the President of the Philippines – Office of the Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs (ODESLA) and the Office of the Ombudsman (OMB). The training supported the continued implementation of the government’s national corruption prevention framework.
The Executive Education Program team had an opportunity for a courtesy visit to Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla, who emphasized the importance of the Integrity Management Program in advancing ethical governance. He encouraged participants to stay responsive to public needs and to treat citizens’ requests with urgency as a reflection of integrity in public service.
Beyond developing knowledge and skills, the training workshop fostered collaboration among agencies and encouraged shared responsibility in advancing integrity initiatives. It enabled the IMP’s core teams to apply project management tools in planning, implementation, and monitoring, helping them align project outputs with their institutional mandates. This approach promotes the sustainability and long-term impact of the Integrity Management Program. The Executive Education Program of ASoG affirms that strengthening the project management capacity of leaders and technical teams directly supports the goals of the IMP and upholds ASoG’s continuing commitment to integrity, ethical leadership, and good governance in public service.
During the closing program, Assistant Ombudsman Atty. Mico Clavano highlighted the importance of the training at a crucial stage for the Integrity Management Program, encouraging participants to work together and put their learning into action. He underscored that as public servants guided by Ignatian values, they are called to be men and women for others in advancing integrity and good governance.

In his remarks, Director Dennis Russel Baldago of the Office of the Ombudsman said the Integrity Management Program shows the government’s firm commitment to promote ethical leadership and strengthen public trust. He added that the training helps teams turn integrity goals into concrete results. Ms. Sharon Grace S. Yabut, Head of the Executive Education Program, encouraged participants to keep applying what they learned: “Let us uphold integrity not only in the outcomes of our projects, but in the way we lead, work together, and make decisions every day.”
