QC gov't partners with ASoG for monitoring & evaluation training of LGU officials, personnel

The Quezon City Local Government (QCG), together with the Ateneo School of Government (ASoG), through its Executive Education Program, conducted a training course on Developing a Results-Oriented Monitoring & Evaluation System from 18 to 19 November 2025, at the Quezon City Hall.
The two-day training workshop provided Quezon City officials and personnel with essential knowledge and practical tools in program monitoring, impact assessment, and results-oriented governance. The course introduced participants to key M&E concepts and provided hands-on activities in analyzing and reporting data for policy and decision-making. It also guided participants in drafting M&E frameworks and plans that can be refined and institutionalized within local governance systems.

Serving as the resource person for the course is Mr Noel M Macalalad, a former Assistant Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development with valuable expertise gained from years of leading key government programs and institutional initiatives. He is also an adjunct faculty at the Ateneo School of Government, where he teaches Integrated Program Management and Strategic Planning. As a seasoned management consultant and project management expert, Mr Macalalad brings extensive expertise in public sector reform.

In opening the training, City Administrator Michael Victor N Alimurung underscored the need to adequately define targets and prolong the impacts of programs, projects, and activities in serving the citizens of Quezon City. Ms Sharon Grace S Yabut, Head of the Executive Education Program, affirmed that results-oriented monitoring and evaluation are vital for QCG, keeping programs aligned with outcomes, guiding data-driven decisions, and ensuring efficient, sustainable impact.
