ASoG Executive Education Program Leads Strategic Communications Training Course for Public and Private Sector Leaders

The Ateneo School of Government through its Executive Education Program culminated its Strategic Communications for Public Sector Leaders training course from 20 to 21 November 2025, convening participants from various local government units (LGUs), national government agencies (NGAs), and private sector leaders who aim to strengthen their strategic communication skills.
Representatives from the Local Government Units of Baliwag (Bulacan), Tarlac City, Isabela City (Basilan), Muntinlupa City, Pasig City; the Provincial and Municipal Governments of Magalang (Pampanga), Cabagan (Isabela), and Candelaria (Quezon Province) participated in the course. As well as attendees from national government agencies of Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG), Department of Education, Social Housing Finance Corporation. The course was also participated by representatives from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities; Aboitiz Power Corporation, and MWM Terminals, Inc.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Leon G. Flores III, CESE, MPM, Professor of Praxis at the Ateneo School of Government and a recognized expert on political branding and communications, and Mr. Jonathan E. Malaya, PhD, MPSA, a seasoned public servant, educator, and author with over 25 years of experience across all three branches of government. Together, they guided participants through the essential principles and practices of effective strategic communication.

At the opening of the course, Ms. Sharon Grace S. Yabut, Head of the Executive Education Program, highlighted the significance of strategic communication in fostering effective leadership that engages the public with clarity and timeliness across crises, institutional messaging, and digital storytelling. In her closing message, Dean Jennifer S. Oreta, PhD, emphasized how strategic communication underpins public service by building trust, strengthening institutional credibility, and supporting informed decision-making. She encouraged participants to leverage the skills gained to enhance leadership impact and public engagement in their respective offices.
