Four current Ateneo de Manila Junior High School (AJHS) students delivered an outstanding performance at the Hong Kong International Science Olympiad (HKISO) Final Round 2025, earning one gold medal with a perfect score, two silver medals, and one bronze medal. The competition was held both online and onsite at the National University of Singapore in Singapore on 14 June 2025, and drew hundreds of participants from around the world.
Leading the AJHS medalists was Anton Doria of 7–Arrowsmith, who secured a gold medal and achieved a perfect score—an exceptional feat that highlights his mastery of scientific concepts. This accomplishment adds to an already impressive run for Doria, who also earned a gold medal with a perfect score at the International Equilibrium Science Olympiad (IESO) Heat Round 2025, held online on 8 June 2025.
Joining him on the podium were silver medalists Kyle Siyhian (7–Azevedo) and Rav Vergara (7–Alfonso), while Mateo Palitog of 7–Berthieu earned a bronze medal. All four students competed in the Grade 6 category, representing Ateneo de Manila Grade School at the time of the competition.

The HKISO Final Round 2025 featured participation from students representing various countries across Asia and other regions. While an official list of participating nations was not publicly released, contestants typically come from countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, India, South Korea, Japan, and selected countries from the Middle East and Europe—underscoring the truly international scope of the competition.
The HKISO is a prestigious annual global science competition designed for students from Grades 2 to 12. It encompasses four major disciplines—Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Integrated Science—and closely follows the Hong Kong School Science Syllabus. The Olympiad assesses students’ grade-level understanding, analytical thinking, and ability to apply scientific concepts to problem-solving scenarios.
The strong showing of the AJHS students at the HKISO Final Round 2025 reflects both their individual dedication and the school’s continued commitment to excellence in science education, as they successfully competed against some of the world’s most promising young science learners.
