Executive Education program launches publicly offered training courses for August

The Ateneo School of Government is accredited by the Civil Service Commission to conduct training and seminars particularly for government sectors. Through its capacity-building arm, the Executive Education unit, the program trains political leaders, civil servants and corporate managers to conceptualize, develop, and manage programs relevant and responsive to the social, economic, and political needs of Filipinos. 

This August 2024, the Executive Education Program will inaugurate its regular run of the training courses open to the public. Anticipating the skillsets of the future, the upcoming Executive Education courses will focus on upskilling and reskilling practitioners from private, public, and development sectors.


August 2024 Executive Education Courses

The Executive Education Program develops and implements evidence-based training programs that are anchored in ethical leadership and good governance, ensuring impactful and measurable results. 

Particularly, here are the publicly offered training courses for the month of August:

Executive Education Program Launches Publicly Offered Training Courses for August Introduction to Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs)

This course aims to provide the participants an overview of the principles, structures, and practical applications of PPPs in economic and infrastructure development. Participants will explore the key elements of PPPs, legal and regulatory frameworks, risk management strategies, and practical insights into planning, implementing, and managing PPP projects across a multitude of infrastructure applications like transportation, toll roads, water and sanitation, education, health, among others.

The following are the modules for the two-day onsite executive training course:

I. Introduction to Public-Private Partnerships    

  • Understanding PPPs
    • Overview of different PPP models
    • Key Elements and Structure of PPPs
  • Legal and Regulatory Framework and Risk Management
    • Legal Framework Governing PPPs
    • Risk Management and PPPs

II. Processes and Practical Insights

  • PPP Planning and Implementation
    • Planning and Feasibility Studies
    • Stakeholder Engagement in PPPs
  • PPP Implementation and Case Studies
    • Managing PPP Projects
    • Case Study

Training Dates: 1 to 2 August 2024 (16 Learning Hours)

Executive Education Program Launches Publicly Offered Training Courses for August

Project Management for Managing Development Sector Projects

This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of project management principles, techniques, and best practices, equipping participants with the tools necessary to plan, execute, and monitor development sector projects efficiently. Whether projects are locally or donor-funded, this course will provide a better appreciation of how projects are harmonized in the larger organizational context as well as address challenges in implementation. It is for individuals whose roles revolve around managing the development sector projects such as practitioners from the Government, LGUs, NGOs, and funding institutions.

The following are the modules for the three-day onsite executive training course:

I. The Project Management Framework

  •     Perspective Setting
  •     Planning and Designing Projects

II. Project Implementation

  •     Constructing Work Breakdown Schedule
  •     Stakeholder Analysis
  •     Application of Logical Framework
  •     Critical Path Analysis
  •     Managing Implementation Risks
  •     Role of Project Manager

III. Addressing Challenges in Managing Development Sector Projects

  •     Monitoring and Evaluation
  •     Communicating to Key Stakeholders
  •     Conflict Management

Political Branding and Communications

This course provides an overview of the skills and knowledge needed to develop effective political branding strategies, communicate persuasively, and manage public perception. 

Specifically, the training aims to:

1. Equip public sector employees with the skills to develop and implement effective political branding strategies tailored to their organizational or political goals and target audience.

2. Enhance participants' ability to communicate political messages persuasively and clearly to diverse stakeholders.

3. Introduce participants to basic concepts in managing public perception and possible crisis situations effectively, ensuring a positive and consistent political brand image.

The following are the modules for the one-day onsite executive training course:

I. Introduction to Political Communications

II. Introduction to Political Branding

III. Elements of a Political Brand

IV. Audience Analysis and Targeting

V. Positioning and Delivery
