Mary Racelis Internship Program for Undergraduates

The Institute of Philippine Culture of the Dr Rosita G Leong School of Social Sciences, Ateneo de Manila University, is pleased to welcome undergraduate students to the 2025 Mary Racelis Internship Program for Undergraduates (MRIPU), which will run from 16 June to 15 August 2025.

The nine-week program offers incoming third-year and fourth-year undergraduates the opportunity to acquire valuable research experience toward a career in research, social development, and science communication. We welcome applicants with a background/experience in research methods, public health, information technology/management of information technology, mass communications/media studies, and the social sciences.

The IPC internship includes a series of learning and training sessions focused on the institute’s core competencies, as well as opportunities for interns to connect through regular kumustahan-kwentuhan sessions throughout the nine-week program. A key feature of the internship is the chance to be involved in ongoing IPC research projects related to communications, public health (including local health information systems and digital health tools), socio-cultural values, social inclusion, and gender diversity.

Interns will assist with document preparation and review; conduct primary and secondary data collection, analysis, and writing; engage in online and archival research; and support webinar, event, and meeting planning, both online and onsite. The IPC welcomes applicants from colleges and universities in the National Capital Region and as well as in other regions of the country, so long as they are able to report to the office in Quezon City, Philippines.

To apply, kindly complete the Mary Racelis Internship Program for Undergraduates Application Form available through this Google Form: https://bit.ly/IPC_MRIPU2025 and upload this together a cover letter to this application, your CV/Resume, a soft copy of your 1×1 most recent photo, and a recommendation letter from your research methods course instructor or department chair or unit head (which shall be sent directly to IPC by your recommending professor/unit chair through the email address ipc.soss@ateneo.edu).
