The Case for Nuclear Energy in the Philippines and the Experience of the Republic of Korea
21 Jul 2022
President Duterte issued E.O. 164 on 28 February 2022, formally including nuclear power in the country’s energy mix. This requires a deeper, more nuanced discussion on the viability of nuclear energy in the Philippines, largely based on its advantages and disadvantages. Meanwhile, safely disposing nuclear waste remains a controversial issue. A useful source of information would be the experience of the Republic of Korea in this area.
