SAGE2022 Banner

We cordially invite you to the fourth International conference on Southeast Asian Gateway Evolution (SAGE 2022) in Manila, the Philippines, on August 8-12, 2022.

This scientific meeting focuses on the origin, diversification, and conservation of Southeast Asia's megadiverse fauna and flora embedded into the context of the region's complex geology and climate history. We are looking forward to welcoming you to this multidisciplinary meeting with contributions to biodiversity science, biogeography, palaeontology, geology, climatology and conservation.

This conference is hosted by the Ateneo de Manila University, a premier private Higher Education and Research Institution in Quezon City, Metro Manila, in collaboration with the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. The venue inside the green and safe Ateneo campus can be reached conveniently from the airports of Manila and Clark in 30 min to 2h.

You may register for the conference at sage2022.org/registration.htm or visit sage2022.org for more information.

Call for Symposia

We currently invite proposals to convene symposia on any of the conference's major topics (biodiversity, biogeography, geology, palaeontology, climatology, conservation). We especially encourage multidisciplinary topics. Please contact the organizational office for more details and symposia proposals before 15 September 2021.

Time schedule and deadlines Covid-19 disclaimer
The 4th SAGE Conference was planned for 2021 and had to be delayed for a year due to the ongoing pandemic. We are confident that we can have a meeting in Manila this year, but please monitor this site in case things develop in unexpected and clearly undesirable ways.
Update: As of February 10, the Philippines allow quarantine free entry for vaccinated travellers! For most countries, no visa is required for a stay of up to 30 days.
