ASOG Presents Study in the 3rd Asia Conference on Business and Economic Studies

01 Sep 2021

ACBES2021

On August 27, 2021, the Ateneo School of Government, through the Ateneo Policy Center (APC), presented its paper entitled “Philippine Conglomerates: Their Role In Promoting Inclusive Development” at the 3rd Asia Conference on Business and Economic Studies (ACBES).

The ACBES provides a platform to discuss papers that provide insights and policy recommendations on the sustainability of business and the economy. This year’s conference is organized by the Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies, University of Economics Ho (UEH) Chi Minh City, Lincoln University, Taylor’s University, and Emerging Markets Society.

Paul Neilmer M. Feliciano, Program Manager of the Business and Government Portfolio of APC, presented the study entitled “Philippine Conglomerates: Their Role In Promoting Inclusive Development”, co-authored by Dr. Philamer C. Torio, Senior Fellow and Associate Professor at the Ateneo School of Government, Leonardo M. Jaminola III, MA student at the University of the Philippines College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, and Mary Sofia J. Manalo, Research Assistant at the Ateneo Policy Center. The paper provides an overview of the Philippine conglomerates’ role in advancing inclusiveness in the country as reflected by their economic contribution and corporate programs. Being vital partners of the government in nation-building, it is important to develop a national industrial policy for growth and innovation that encourages conglomerates to further implement programs that generate greater dividends to society.
