Invitation: “Crossroad to 2030: Reviewing and recalibrating the SDGs roadmap of the Philippines” public plenary

18 Aug 2022

Partnerships for the Goals

We cordially invite you to the public plenary entitled “Crossroad to 2030: Reviewing and recalibrating the SDGs roadmap of the Philippines”. The plenary shall explore the progress of the global community, in particular the Philippines, in meeting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The plenary will feature the presentation on updates on the progress of the Philippines vis-à-vis the SDGs, which will be delivered by Mr. Guillaume Lafortune, Vice President and Head of Paris Office of Sustainable Development Solutions Network & lead author of the 2022 Sustainable Development Report (SDR). The SDR was cited in nearly half of the voluntary national reviews (VNRs) that were reported at the UN High-Level Political Forum in 2021, and the European Parliament has recognized it as one of 10 composite indices that are helpful for creating policy.

The session will also feature Policy and Planning Group Usec. Rosemarie G. Edillon of National Economic Development Authority to respond to the presentation and to provide broad ideas on how the current administration intends to meet the 2030 Global Goals.

This plenary is part of the General Assembly of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network Philippines (SDSN PH) hosted by the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability (AIS). The GA anchors assessing our progress on the SDGs as we stand on a crossroad given that we are approaching the midpoint to 2030, that we are at what appears to be the tail-end of the pandemic, and that the Philippines ushered a new government a few months ago.
