ASoG, Philippine Air Force AETDC open the 2nd batch of PAF LEAD

18 Oct 2022

Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
Partnerships for the Goals

On October 10, 2022, the second batch of Philippine Air Force (PAF) Officers embarked on the Philippine Air Force Leadership Excellence and Development Program (PAF LEAD). Thirty (30) key officers from PAF are participating in the executive training that was initially developed in 2021 by the Ateneo School of Government - Executive Education Program and the PAF Aviation Leadership and Excellence Nexus (PAF ALEN). Using the AFP-ASoG Leadership Competency Framework for its main guidance, the PAF LEAD Program is one of the latest innovative training undertakings of the PAF ALEN in its pursuit of leadership development in the PAF. PAF LEAD aims to enhance the competencies of Philippine Air Force Senior Officers in examining the complexity of emerging trends in national defense and how instruments of national power are integrated and utilized in order to attain national military objectives through employment of Air Power and influencing strategic policy changes to benefit the PAF.

ASoG, through the head of its Academic Program, Ms. Cristina M. Alikpala, welcomed the participants during the opening session and reaffirmed their commitment to the PAF and AFP to support in its transformation and continued upgrading of its skills, competencies, and of its people.

Col. Thad Rufino P. Candelario PAF (MNSA), Deputy Commander of the AETDC, highlighted the cultivation of knowledge in his inspirational message to the participants. PAF draws on the best out of air force leaders and the PAF LEAD Program aims to benefit not only the participants present, but the units and offices that they will be leading. He then thanked the ASoG for its continued support as it is through our shared commitment, through higher ideals that we can successfully collaborate and nurture a brighter future for our country and our fellow Filipinos.

ASoG Dean Dr. Philip Arnold P. Tuaño, in his response, affirmed the AFP’s clear understanding that investing in its men and women is crucial to the development of competent, effective, and above all, ethical leaders that our country needs and deserves. Thus, ASoG endeavors to continue supporting PAF and the AFP in this avenue for the continuing growth and development of the officers of the Philippine Air Force.
