AJHS’ Diaz, Cabaya, & Estrada are January 2024 champs of Minecraft’s World Build Monthly Challenge
23 Feb 2024
Competing in the 6th-12th grade category, a team comprised of Ateneo de Manila Junior High School Gamebreakers/Minecraft Club org members Gonzo Diaz (7-Azevedo), Aidan Cabaya (7-Baldinucci), and Yñigo Estrada (9-Harcourt) emerged as January 2024 champion of the Minecraft Education World Build Monthly Challenge. News of the triumph was emailed to Mr. Jason Arias, the boys’ Gamebreakers org moderator, on February 14, 2024.
For the January Challenge, participating teams were tasked to produce a video related to the theme, “Community Building in Extreme Environments.” The Ateneans' entry was “Frozen Gazdan,” a Nordic-inspired arctic village that thrives despite the harsh winter climate. As instructed, the boys submitted their video outlining the challenge with their appointed “ambassador,” Yñigo, explaining the build. The “special swag” promised by Microsoft to the champion team as its prize is in transit.

There will also be a Minecraft Education World Build Monthly Challenge held in February, March, April and May 2024.
