Stronger together: ASMPH staff gather for year-end and planning workshop

ASMPH Staff Yearend and Planning 2025

The ASMPH Staff Year-Ene and Planning Workshop was held once again to mark the close of the academic year and to collectively prepare for what lies ahead. With the theme “Stronger Together: Reflect, Connect, Improve,” this year’s workshop encouraged the staff to pause, look back, and look forward—with greater clarity and deeper connection.

The event was opened by Dean Cenon “Dodie” Alfonso, who affirmed the importance of unity, alignment, and purpose among the ASMPH staff. His presence and message set the tone for the rest of the day’s activities, which focused on honest reflection, cross-departmental collaboration, and team development.

Throughout the workshop, participants revisited the year that was—taking stock of what went well, the challenges that emerged, and the ways in which these experiences can inform future improvements. A key part of the day included writing messages of appreciation and constructive feedback for other departments, allowing the team to surface both gratitude and insight in the spirit of open communication.

The staff also engaged in a personality-based self-awareness activity designed to help team members better understand their own working styles and those of their colleagues. By identifying patterns in how they respond to stress and motivation, participants gained practical insights on how to foster more respectful, productive interactions in the workplace.

This year’s gathering was also an opportunity to recognize and thank the outgoing ASMPH Staff Committee for their years of service, especially in organizing events and addressing the evolving needs of staff. In their place, a new Staff Committee was elected to serve for the next three years. This newly elected group will continue the work of representing staff concerns and organizing initiatives that build community and promote well-being.

The day concluded with a Fellowship Night—an informal gathering that gave everyone the chance to unwind, bond, and reinforce the sense of community that remains at the heart of the ASMPH staff experience.

As the school gears up for another year, the workshop reaffirmed a shared commitment to continuous improvement, grounded in mutual respect and collaboration. Together, we move forward—stronger and more connected than ever.
