Visiting professor lecture: Gen AI and robotherapy implications for mental health

Ateneo de Manila University, through the Dr Rosita G. Leong School of Social Sciences, the Ateneo Public Mental Health Collaborative, and the Ateneo Laboratory for the Learning Sciences, organized a Visiting Professor Lecture on “Gen AI and Robotherapy: Implications for Mental Health” last 3 March 2026.

The lecture was given by Prof Konrad Maj, PhD, a social psychologist at SWPS University in Warsaw, Poland, affiliated with the Department of Artificial Intelligence and the HumanTech Center for Social and Technological Innovation, where he is the Head. His research areas include the psychological aspects of human-robot interactions, trust in AI systems, and the social implications of emerging technologies.
Moderated by Prof Gina Hechanova, Lead of the Ateneo Public Mental Health Collaborative and a multi-awarded psychologist recognized for her work in organizational and community mental health, together with Prof. Didith Rodrigo, Head of the Ateneo Laboratory for the Learning Sciences and a leading researcher in artificial intelligence in education, the event examined how generative AI and robotics are reshaping mental health care.
